I think the Q4 is a nice car in other respects. The Tesla Model Y interior and controls don't appeal to me, the Mercs are too expensive and the Jag has a poor range. I'm not sure what I'll do at the moment.

If it helps I was very impressed with the Polestar 2, not an SUV but a really solid car with good tech. 6 months lead time or a pre-configured car in 8 weeks.

Volvo XC40 isn't bad too if you need an SUV.

Also, thinking about this, won't our lack of software updates effect the resale value in the future? For example, the 2022 model has slightly better efficiency than the 2021 model, no doubt they will keep improving the platform and tweaking the software on new cars being made but that puts the first generation at a distinct disadvantage, even though it's exactly the same car just on older software?

The Q4 isn't going to get a software update is it?

I think it is quite obvious that Audi/VAG have abandoned the 1st series buyers.

Shame because the mechanics of the car are great but its seriously marred by faulty and buggy software.

I'll see what happens in the new year.
Maybe time to get legal representation to get answers from Audi?

I agree and have written to Audi saying as much. They did kindly come back with “The software is been built, but with no eta”. I replied “that was an insult” and they should know better and they have put a defective vehicle on the market? Since then it’s all gone quite from them, I shall give them a week to answer my questions on what they are going to do to for us 1st edition drivers and let you all know. I suspect it may well be that we may have to take some form of legal action to get any results, but I am confidant that there will be a long list of legal teams leaping to take this sort of class action forward especially as it involves a “duty of care to supply a safe product” , which this forum many posts on faults have highlighted. So watch this space.
On a personal note, I for one think It’s a real pity we have to take this form action as the Q4 is a really good car!

My local Audi dealer have just phoned to book my Q4 50 (delivered 12/21) in for a software update. Not sure what the update is but the dealer said it had just been released today.

What software version are you on? 3608 is the initial version from Q4 SOP, which we keep hearing cannot be updated…

Jiy- I will be ex-static if you get the update we are all looking for, but I believe some dealers have used this as a way to get you to book an unwanted service with them, but please let us know what occurs

I have just looked on an American web site which has stated(and this is only a roamer) that the reasons why we can get the updates is due to Audi/VW not fitting all the chips when the car was first built just to get them out? If this is the case then that may explain why Audi are so reluctant to admit responsibility.
However I do know that they did ship cars out with missing chips due to their shortage but I thought they were for the interior lighting and headlight packs.
