Rear interior lights

Hi,

Driving home tonight with a passenger in the rear seat, the interior light above her head kept coming on randomly and then either going out completely 10 seconds later, or slowly going out after a 10 - 20 seconds. Then a few minutes later it came back on and went through the same routine. And one time the light stayed on for a few minutes before going out! I was driving along very dark roads, so a little distracting as I could see the light in my rear view mirror. Never had this happen before as I don’t often have anyone sitting in the rear seats in the dark.

Any one had the same thing happen or explain why?

Not exactly the same problem but it’s the front interior lights that have done this once only. What is happening now, when I unlock the car, only the front passenger and both rear passenger lights come on. Press or hold the offending drivers light and it works. I’ve read the manual etc. it’s going in for its service in October. First issue on the list following the software upgrade.

Thanks. My car is due for its 2 year service next month so I’ll add this to the list of things for the dealer to look at.

I have the same problem, but dealer does not have any idea how to fix this.

Yes. Audi digital services have passed me on to the main dealer (as expected really). Appointment in December so I can get a loan car. Will report back then.

Update on drivers side interior light not illuminating when the door is opened. It’s a complete new lighting unit I’m afraid. This fitting is controlled by some sort of inbuilt control module. Back order till Feb 24?? A tiny wait really given the amount of time I waited for the major software update
