Yes, its quite normal. That's where the factory fit retractable towbar will go if you ordered one. All MEB platform vehicles have this large bumper cutout -VW ID4, Skoda Enyaq, etc.

Looked under mine and there is the gap. Strange that it would not have a panel on it for cars without the tow bar as it seems to be in an area where mud and debris could accumulate.
